Mná na hEireann A4 Print

Mná na hÉireann - Women of Ireland. “Instead of rocking the cradle, rocked the system” Inspired by Mary Robinson’s 1990 acceptance speech, this print was created to celebrate femininity, bravery, strength and what it is to be an Irish Woman.

The symbolism of MNÁ na hÉIREANN.

THE DARA KNOT: Based on the root system of the oak tree, represents inner strength, wisdom, endurance and the cycle of life. This is my sons name and this knot design is a personal symbol of motherhood for me.

THE FIVE FOLD KNOT: Represents integration of the four elements - Earth, Fire, Air & Water connected together by Spirit. This symbol conveys the essence of Mother Earth or Mother Nature, balance and unity.

THE TRINITY KNOT: This Celtic knot is a familiar one used in modern decoration or jewellery and symbolises eternal love. One of the more interesting ancient meanings is 'The Triple Goddess' signifying the stages in a womans life from little girl to Mother to older woman or Maiden, Mother, Crone.

Printed on 100% recycled card and packaged in a film sleeve with a back board to keep print flat. This print is sold unframed.
